The coronavirus crisis is causing unpredictable and significant concerns for York Archaeological Trust, the educational charity that runs Barley Hall and our sister attractions in York. Our staff and visitors’ safety is our top priority. We have reacted to this challenge by developing a brand-new virtual engagement programme – ‘Virtual Vikings’, that will deliver similar on-line experiences to school classes, which we want to launch during the autumn term.
To help us create this valuable new offer for school children across the UK who cannot now visit our attractions, we need to purchase the technical equipment and learning resources to deliver it. We would be hugely grateful for your support helping us raise £120,000 to cover the costs of developing and running this exciting and beneficial new project.
Our planned opening hours for 2020 are as follows (closing time is time of last entry):
31st August – 20th September – 10am – 3pm
21st September – 10th October – 10am – 3pm
11th October – 1st November – 10am – 4pm
2nd November – 3rd January – 10am – 3pm
Barley Hall will be closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Opening hours on New Year’s Eve: 10am-2pm, New Year’s Day: 11am-4pm
